8625 Firmware Versions

This page summarizes the main firmware capabilities for the 8625 hardware platform so engineering, testing, and field teams can quickly confirm version-level feature boundaries.

HEX firmware notes

8625 firmware is delivered and flashed as a HEX file. The XTM version numbers on this page identify the corresponding HEX firmware capability baseline.

  • XTM 1.0.0 is the 8625 HEX baseline for image transmission.
  • XTM 1.1.0 adds APC on top of image transmission.
  • XTM 1.2.0 is the HEX version for relay voice and is the right baseline for relay or multi-hop voice validation.

During flashing or regression testing, record the HEX file name, XTM version, device serial number, and test app version together to avoid mismatches between firmware capabilities and client versions.

XTM 1.0.0: Image transmission

XTM 1.0.0 adds image transmission support to the 8625 firmware, allowing image data to be carried over the xTalk / aiTalk communication link.

Main capabilities:

  • Supports image data transmission across the device link.
  • Provides the firmware foundation for app-side image messages and field image return scenarios.
  • Serves as the baseline for later image-link optimization and reliability improvements.

XTM 1.1.0: APC

XTM 1.1.0 adds APC on top of the 1.0.0 capability set to improve transmit behavior and power-related performance across different link conditions.

Main capabilities:

  • Adds APC support.
  • Provides a foundation for link stability and power control in complex communication environments.
  • Keeps the image transmission capability from XTM 1.0.0.

XTM 1.2.0: Relay voice

XTM 1.2.0 HEX firmware adds relay voice support for voice communication in relay or multi-hop scenarios.

Main capabilities:

  • Adds relay voice support.
  • Supports forwarding voice data through relay links.
  • Keeps image transmission and APC-related capabilities.

Selection guidance

  • Use XTM 1.0.0 as the baseline when only image transmission is required.
  • Use XTM 1.1.0 or later when APC is required.
  • Use XTM 1.2.0 HEX or later when relay voice is required.
